The Future.

The Future, a mystery of radical importance.  Usually a fear, often coupled with the thought of disaster or death, the future is frequently an anomaly that masses of people cower before.  Why fear though?  Tomorrow often brings in more jubilant times; an example would be when people look forward to things.  Often times the future is an equal distribution of the two extremes.  What kinds of things do you look forward to as a person and what do you hope to not have to face?  Answer in comment box please.

In my own life, I have plenty of things that I constantly think about throughout the day.  Right now, I’m dealing with the class office elections, which is a mix of both positive and negative outcomes that I am pondering.  I am also looking forward to Key Club’s participation in the Edmonds City Park Easter Egg Hunt and Relay for Life.  How about you!?

I think I might start asking more questions to the readers now, and maybe make my blogs a tad bit longer too

Internet.

Power beyond what a person is able to visualize, new windows and doors opened to satisfy a hungry mind.   Unimaginable amounts of people linked through the vast jungle of social networking sites, instant messengers and forums.   Such a gracious tool it is, a manifestation of progress, hate, love, and ignorance swirled together into a thing we call the world wide web.  Where is the line that divides a tool and a weapon though?  Where is it possible to see the dullness of a blade?

The Internet is a battle zone, a place for social ware fare.  Sure, connections between people can happen, and bonds can be strengthened, but it’s a place where battalions of ideas wage war guerrilla style, jumping from seemingly irrelevant points in one big picture, hoping to stump the opponent.  Sure there’s debate, but there’s always a time when people pull out other more violent tactics, DDOS attacks, Ping Bombs, Zip Bombs, Bandwidth  inflation, etc.  One would probably think to ask, “Where do these soldiers find fuel for their strength?” and the answer is anonymity.  Anonymity is the mighty secret to the Internet.  Behind a screen a person is in the same state of mind as a person on PCP; the feeling of power and impulses of violence course through them.  Less self conscious, due to the fact that physical contact is nonexistent therefore factors of body language and tone of voice could never occur.  The same concept could be seen with a masked burglar.  If people don’t know who another person is, they wouldn’t care about the other person’s feelings.

How can one tell if the person behind the mask is actually a threat?  Well naturally, it’s the person who doesn’t seem to argue with a stance; the people that seem to make blatantly irrelevant points and seem to just be arguing for the desire to argue.  Often people like that are the ones that make the internet look like a slum.  Just like with the ratio of harmless to burglars, the internet is filled with a majority of people who don’t mean harm, or don’t understand how to make a point.

On a side note:

Damn, I’m going to tone down my blogs and make them less huge…  Also less serious.

Religion.

Hmm.  Dare I touch on this topic?  This thing we all hold close to our hearts…  What we confide in when we’re scared, what we look to for some kind of reason, the thing that we’ve always been taught to be one of the most important things in a person’s life.  Religion.

I myself, am Atheist.  I find it hard to be able to imagine a creator, God, creating us.  Some of the stories in the Bible are just hard for me to believe as well, like how Jesus was able to come back from the dead.  Even as an Atheist though, I find religion to be a wonderful thing, and I am a completely tolerant person, in fact, I love being around the community and the people, I just don’t believe it.  It’s hard for me to believe that I can pray or be pious, and get anything I want, or experience endless paradise once I die, which I could never be more thankful for or imagine being admitted to; the expectations seem as if they’re something I could never accomplish.  I also feel as if religion is a do or die scenario, either you’re devout or you go to hell or some other equivalent of hell or you’re just average and pray every now and then and still end up in some sort of punishment, depending on the religion.  The way religion gives a person that kind of scenario is the very reason why I know I wouldn’t be able to make it into heaven, because I don’t work very hard at things.  It could be that I’m not a very imaginative person, or I just lack the same morals that other people seem to have and that I’m just not that great of a person.

I really love the idea of a religion, it gives a person something or somewhere to just empty their thoughts in, basically a being to consolidate with, the being either being God, Allah, or some other supernatural force.  The ability to feel as if you’re talking to someone and letting out your feelings by praying or going to a confession really helps to condition a person and contribute to their mental health and keep them from going wankers, because they’re able to let the huge waters of their thoughts, being held in by their self conciousness, out just like lowering a dam for a short period of time.  Not only that, it gives a person a chance to talk about and voice their problems, it also gives a person the chance to pray.  Prayer is usually to get an object of desire, or to wish someone well, it’s a very extravegant idea.  Even though I envy the religiously pious, and devout followers of religion, I still find myself unable to get into the same mix as everyone else.

Anyways, carry on with your days now that you’ve read my BLAWG for today, Thanks for reading!
